I am a mother to three grown up children and live with my partner on the Berks / Hants border. I have two step children, two grandchildren and one step grandson. I am a member of Doula UK. My first two children were born in hospital in the UK, and my last child was born at home in the US. Our two rescued greyhounds are an important part of the household.

From the birth of my first baby, I knew I wanted to be a midwife and to that end I trained both as a nurse and as a midwife. I worked as a midwife at Hillingdon Hospital for 5 years, and during the last two years I was a community midwifery sister. I ran antenatal classes as part of my work. I speak a little French.

Midwife means "with woman" and I found it frustrating not to be able to spend enough time with women due to the constraints imposed by working within the NHS. I love being able to spend quality time with parents and their new babies, and enjoy helping them adjust to their changed circumstances. I have a special interest in breastfeeding.

I am very good at juggling different roles and multi-tasking. I have experience of working in a multi-cultural area. I love spending time with children and babies. I was present at the caesarean section of my grandson and the water and land birth of two other friends apart from catching 200 babies in my professional role. I spent two years doing postnatal home visits as a midwife, which included breastfeeding support.
